Who should attend?
The one-day workshop on colorimetric methods for drug resistance detection in M. tuberculosis can benefit professionals working in Microbiology.Attendees are expected to have basic knowledge in microbiology.
The workshop is recommended for mycobacteriologists, clinical microbiologists, laboratory technicians, PhD or Master students who are engaged in tuberculosis research activities.
This workshopwill help participants to acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills on rapid detection of drug resistance using the nitrate reductase assay (NRA) , and the colorimetric redox indicator (CRI) methods; the two new methods recently endorsed by WHO (2011). Participants will have direct hands-on experience on these methods.
Number of participants
Maximum of 12 participants will be selected to attend the practice training programme.
